In keeping with our commitment, we believe, we can best service our society by investing in the
family structure to prepare the next generation for their roles as leaders in the community.
Developing and maintaining strong neighborhoods by strengthening children and their families is
a priority of Train Up A Child. We accomplish our goals by conducting Parenting seminars and
a tutoring program for K-12 students “The Homework Mastery Center”. We also produce
“Its All About the Children”, a television show on public access, which addresses parenting
issues to help provide solutions to parenting problems. Many studies have proven that proper
parenting skills through the developmental years of a child and the positive effect will last in the
adult years. Our organization is in the business of building a strong foundation in the lives of
individuals in our community.
The television show, “Its All About the Children” and the Parenting Seminars are designed to
incorporate parents in the equation of success. These programs work in conjunction with the
children’s tutoring program. Confidence and healthy self-esteem are built upon the foundation
of knowledge. This is a comprehensive program designed to educate, and effectively give
participants a foundation for personal growth and ensuing a positive development of the
community.
The Children Defense Fund Research has shown when parents reinforce school rules and
expectations, and requires their children to work hard and complete their assignments; his or
her effectiveness will be greatly enhanced. The Homework Mastery Center is aware of the
importance of home-school cooperation that is why we believe our Homework Help
Workshop along with all our programs is critically important. Parental encouragement and
assistance contribute to students’ higher achievement on report card grades, better attitudes,
and higher aspirations.
The purpose of the Homework Mastery Center program is to help students Kindergarten
through 12th grade improve in study skills, homework skills, test preparation, ACT, SAT and
all academics. This is a comprehensive program designed to educate, and equip children with
personal growth and academic development.
Our goal is to give children school readiness, by developing cognitive, behavioral and
sociological skills.
Our Mission: To help develop tomorrow’s leaders by assisting them academically in
math, science, reading, writing, life skills and social skills.
